Possession - I compromised with the tool bench - its in the loft - but he visits it regularly!!!

We had a huge rocking horse which when I knew we were moving here I knew we couldnt possibly accomodate so I sold it quietly, on holiday in June this year OH suddenly says thats a point wheres the rocking horse? I havent seen it for a few weeks!!!
OH is a huge hoarder as well so I try to sneak things out while he is working - easier these days as he is out so much!!

Have rooted out DD19 wii fit board today - I am seriously in need of proper exercise and better diet, a few of our group are in similar position so we are going to try and eat better and do small amounts of exercise.
Am gutted to discover I have put on over a stone since I last used it two years ago.

hi all, we are family of sort of hoarders. In the attic is DD little tykes dolls house - she is now 18!!! I know I should sort and sell and I have started. We do lots of car boots in the summer and I list on land of bay. Need to list the inflatable Christmas decorations. Havn't used them in years now. I am now officially sorted for presents.

Need a gift box and a gift bag and that's it.

All gifts have been on sale, or have been bought on auction site. This is the most frugal shop I have ever done, and you know what I am proud of it. I have also re gifted some items too. I used vouchers for certain shops and I have saved nectar points too, will be getting Disney planes on Saturday for free with them.

DD coloured my hair today, 2.99 colour and now I am grey free. Need to just get a cut when they next have a walk in offer, I can wait....

Working later today - tea for OH Is fish pie. Found it in the freezer yesterday.

    Take care x

Oh I lurve fish pie :D pork chops and roasted veg for us - L!dl has pork chops for £1.74 on Sunday so we picked up a couple of packs.

I need to restock my freezer a all contents were given to MiL when we left the house. It wouldn't have lasted the journey down very well but I did have all bits an bobs in there that I relied upon. The fridge freezer is holding up nicely - even the duct taped drawer fronts. Hoping it will last a year or two.

I didn't get to the launderette so have the towel rail in (175w but kicks out some heat in the very small bathroom) with the airer filled, sat in the bath space.

The panel heater in the kitchen isn't working at all now so that's no heat down stairs. I've emailed my agent but her hands are tied as there's alreading an electrician request in to check the night storage heater. Why do people go soooooooo slooooooooow. I've got my back up elect rad that has thermostat controls and 750, 1250 and 2000w settings but its a tall order to try to be frugal with electric and to expect it to heat both rooms.

Also going to get the ball rolling to try to get the credit meter back. Prepay is so expensive. It's frightening how quickly my money is going.

Still just niggles. Someone once told me to see what you can sort/what needs doing in the here and now and forget about all else because otherwise my head with spin with what ifs and whens and overwhelm me. Trying to do that now :)

Children do seen to accumulate so much don't they. My two now have to share a room and I'm fast realising that not everything is going to fit on the shelves!

FUDDLE....You will find that pre pay metres are expensive , but if you also have storage heaters they are really really expensive to run, god you must be forever feeding the dam thing.........I lived with them for about 23 year in total and detested them so much, but you need heat and when GCH is not there you have to have electric storage heating, some people on MSE reckon they are cheap,:eek:, cheap my ar*e, and that if you find them expensive you are not using them correctly...I had a well insulated property with DG , but I hated them .............Have you got a fireplace that you can use..?..........

Glad youve settled in well and have adjusted yourselves to your new life style.......

Im not well again.. ,, poor hubby was due to come out of respite on Monday but im ill and cant look after my self right now so I def cant have hubby back yet , so social services very very reluctantly to let him stay in for an extra week, but thet have to , which now means Ive lost all my respite until the new tax year which is April 14.... , when I telephoned them yesterday , I asked when can we expect a case worker to visit us to sort out the permanent care home and nobody had even put it on our file ...:mad::mad::mad:........
Im sure they are all waiting for me to drop down dead first then do summat........Makes me pig sick , Ive been to drs and im on a strong dose of anti NSAIDS .........But I have to wait til they kick in, god im so pi**ed off with everything , im sick to death of hearing about xmas on the tv etc, I dont turn it on anymore , total waste of money as far as im concerned, its only about "what am I going to get" , no true meaning of christmas anymore , sorry for my good ole moan and rant......

Hope everyone else is bit more happier that me to day ....Sheila

Sheila goodness. I only have to wait for an electrician to get back to me and I'm frustrated with incompetence, no wonder you are narked to say the least.

It's awful because my first thought is trying to find a tactic, a loop hole etc so they HAVE to listen and act but then I remembered that we're talking about your dear OH and I feel stuck :( Is there no way you can tap into someone coming out to help you both, like I'm about to do? I don't know anything about it all yet but if I find out anything that might be of use I'll let you know.

We haven't used the storage heater yet. It smells awful when switched on so want it checked out first. I spoke to next door who have just had her heater replaced - £1000! The LL won't be replacing it then. I don't know what will happen. No we don't have a fire place but been given some thought about the calor gas heaters.

castleton, thanks for the info. DD is at collage so will instruct her to find out the cost. The only problem I have is lack of time off work. And I often get called in at the last minute due to excessive sickness.

Fuddle - how is the heating system described in the tenancy agreement/inventory? I'm sure the agents will act on your behalf. We had an issue in a rented place, the Landlord wasn't responding to emails from the agency so they went ahead and had the boiler repaired using their money and charged it on to the landlord with a penelty for not responding in a timely manner. Some agents are really on the ball.....as are some landlords.

Shegar - sorry to hear you're still not well. Hope you can get a caseworker round soon.

possession and Kidkat - been there done that with the toys, DD2 has always been very bad at getting rid of stuff (DD1 just hordes bits of paper, shoved in a bag, in a box, in a bag, in a suitcase, under the bed - cos she's strange) DD2 came down to help decorate the tree last night and asked where her piglet hat was......bemused look from me....can't recall a piglet hat...yes mother it was a Christmas one, my favourite one ever......cue lots of sulking and accusing that I'd thrown it away. I got quite angry as I couldn't even remember the ruddy thing, so I went back through Christmas photos to see if I could see it......and yes I could....when she was 9. She's now coming up 16!

Lots of YS bargains in Mr A today, leeks, tomatoes and cabbage down to 30/40p - will use the cabbage tonight for coleslaw, yum!

Fuddle check your tenancy agreement, as some don't allow calor gas heaters.
    I know my DD's don't.

sheila so sorry you are poorly again, not surprised it gets you down. Know what you mean about TV at the moment, I just blank out the Christmas ads if someone has TV on. Just companies trying to sell us the 'perfect Christmas'. Is there some other body that could help you out until you get a caseworker sorted, one of the voluntary organisations perhaps? I don't know what's available in your area but you could try to find a Guideposts or similar who might be able to get you some help. Hope you are feeling a little better soon. It's crazy that you are expected to look after your dear OH until April without respite  makes me mad to hear the politicians spouting about this and that when ordinary folk are struggling with something so fundamental.
