A big box from AF just arrived so I have now unpacked all the stuff so dds don't twig it was a bargain or they will turn their noses up
Some big bottles of Lipton iced tea, delight desserts, tinned fruit, processed peas, sardines in tomato sauce, pasta sauce (used for pizzas), very posh mayonnaise as youngest was sniffy about the Aldee stuff with "foreign writing", luxury crumble mixes, sweet chilli sauce and garlic and herb dressings. All for about half price :j
Very hot so might wait a while to pop down to shops. I have renewed library books online so I don't have to carry heavy books around in this heat.
Variations on a la leftovers for lunch and if I do not see good YS deals tonight then will make potato cakes or burgers with salad.

I buy nearly all my meat from the butchers - usually one round the corner from me. He is more expensive but it goes further and I would rather pay more and eat less IYSWIM knowing that it's good quality.
I did buy chicken from the co-op the other day on a 2 for £7 deal. I would pay £7 for one from my butcher. I am guessing there was an equivalent amount of meat on those 2 that there is on one from the butcher - but I know where the butcher chickens have come from and they definitely have room to run round. You can tell anyway from the meat on the legs. The co-op one was welfare friendly, too
Last school day for DD tomorrow (her birthday too) and DS has to go for the morning only on Friday, then 6.5 weeks off for them :T I love the holidays. The weather is set to continue for next week at least - after that I don't care cos I'm going to FranceI do really, I hope it stays like this until October :rotfl:
I have a busy night ahead with wrapping pressies and some marking I have, after that the pressure should be off a little. One by one those balls I'm juggling are coming down.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Afternoon.
I just can't function in this heatI'm tired and sticky so don't get too close
Went to pilates this morning and done booger all since. We have DSS school play this evening and I'm hoping it is cooler than it was yesterday as it was soooooo hot.
Why am I punishing myself twice I hear you all ask
Well
DSS Mum rang the school and wanted tickets for the show to which my Step Son said " if she comes I won't be in the play I'll just go home" so as a compromise we said we would go to both performances in case she shows up making trouble.
She did exactly the same to my other DSS three years ago and when everyone was whipped up into a frenzy she never showed
To add to the annoyance she is red carded at the school (drinker) and is not allowed without permission. If roles where reversed the school would not have contemplated DH or any other estranged red carded Dad so why does it make a difference if it's the mother ???
On the plus side DSS goes to secondary school in September so I think this is just a last ditch attempt to play Mumsy at baby school as big boy schools just don't do the faffing around and tell them straight ......... "your just not welcome Mrs Alchoholic any way your kids don't really like you so run along and stop upsetting everyone"
WimbleWomble the Westie poo is resembling a mountain goat and is suffering terribly in the heat so tomorrow can't come soon enough when the dog groomer is due. I know I could try and save a few quid doing it myself but all the other pups would laugh at him and call him names.
We have the chiropodist (is that how you spell it?) coming tomorrow and I'm a little apprehensive as I haven't had someone else touch my feet before (unless you count DH who moans his hands are dropping off after 30 seconds of rubbing :rotfl:)
I have two gimpy toe nails as well which I can't bear to have touched, they are like bird claws so I'm thinking my Dad may have been a budgie :rotfl:
She is coming a 4pm tomorrow so ear plugs at the ready!!!
Now I'm whinging your REALLY glad I'm back ain't ya :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
PiC x
PS went veggie when I got the chooks as I just couldn't eat chicken any more (daft I know) but I felt so much better and was in less pain so have turned full on veggie. At least it saves a few quid.0 -
Didnt get a massage or a pedicure - I got the wrong date  and I was really looking forward to it
Oh well have to have a DIY pamper session tonight, true MSE.
Fuddle if you google 'jam jar tealight holders it will show you how to wrap wire round to make a handle to hang them up - easier than trying to explain on here.
Just been to visit Mum for my Birthday card ( not yet but I will be away) and it registered 90 degrees on the car thermometer It was too hot to even walk round Hobbycraft  I am staying inside now till it cools down, me and hot dont get on well, very fair skin, which is annoying as the rest of my huge family on Mums side have romany skin and tan beautifully.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

Hi all
What a day! feel like I have been running round like a crazy person....hold on I am a crazy person :rotfl:
Baby boy has had a bad day with his illnesses so I've had screaming, sick, constipation and general miserableness. Emergency second dose of medication and lots of mummy hugs later and I think were ok again or at least I'm hoping or there will be no sleep to be had tonight
siegemode loving the sprout facts...might do honey fried sprouts with apricots as my Saturday night treat. I'm sure they will go just lovely with a fruity white and if not by the second glass I won't be able to tell
Hope everyone is as well as they can be and managing in the heat xCrazy unorganised mum in need of help!

I googled the simple syrup recipe, and I love the idea of NOW, and with home grown lavender...but I did plant that stuff for bees, and they`re loving it, so I feel a bit shifty about cutting it. MrsLW, how lovely it is to have a nice log stash!! We have an open fire and use coal to start then put logs on when it gets going. Our log shelter is still 2 thirds full, but I have been thinking about buying some more coal while it`s at summer price.
I had 8 hundred weight coal delivered last week,:), @ £124.22, im always a head , its no good letting winter get here then realise you havent got coal and wood and no money to buy either with.....Planning a head I call it.......
Also had my son come yesterday and sawed a load logs up and its stacked in a open dry store ready for winter......
Im still going great guns, cant seem to slow down , so full of energy, plus ive lost 2 kg,:D in 1 week, they do say that sea kelp is used alot for weight lose, long may my
