I'm looking forward to my weekend off. Lyn and I are meeting up in Ikea tomorrow where we will natter, sup tea and look and buy useful stuff. Lyn I need storage jars, tealights, a £3 stool and catalogue. See you in the morning!

You are both clearly MAD. I went to the same one on a Saturday not long ago and it felt like working my way through the circles of hell. Even the carpark was horrific.

Even worse, I need to go back sometime.

Lyn - when do you want to come over and prune my willow tree?

One of the "home" magazines is offering a free ikea catalogue this month - think it might be called "perfect home" or something like that.

Saw specialist at hospital this morning and he thinks DH is coping well with the chemo. Managed to get DH to hospital restaurant after appointment and he ate nearly a whole meal! :j:j:j

Got home and he had a rest for a couple of hours and has just asked for something to eat so a tray with a chopped up chicken puff pastry pie, a bag of crisps and a small panna cotta dessert has just been taken up.

    JackieO

Lovely to hear from you and make sure you rest and recover.

Might pop out later to get a few bits and bobs to tempt DH's appetite and have fish to bake for tonight with some stir fry veg.

House is now advertised in paper as well as R****Tm***e and estate agents window etc. Someone is arriving tomorrow morning to do an energy cert so hoping for a quiet weekend to rest and relax.

    Hugs to all

  • OK I'll admit to being batty any day of the week but if it gets me to meet my pal I'll do it 10 times over!!! FUDDLEY ONE looking so much forward to seeing you tomorrow, will meet you as arranged and shop till we drop!! or at least until we need a cuppa!

MONNAGRAN we'll have to find somewhere central to all of us to meet you one of these days, it seems such a shame to have you on the mainland and not actually meet you. Perhaps we can find a day that suits all 3 of us and maybe go somewhere to a christmas market that would be a lovely thing to do wouldn't it?

GREENBEE I'll have a word with He Who Knows and see what he has on over the next couple of weeks and PM you to see if we have a day where we could all make a meet up. Would you like some more raspberry canes? and are you in a position yet to have the rhubarb crowns, if not we'll wait until you have that bit of the garden ready and give you some in the spring. You of course already KNOW we're batty, so it won't come as a shock to you this time will it pet? Lyn xxx.

Um... garden is definitely not in a state to have ANYTHING put in. I'm still taking stuff out at the moment! But hopefully it will at least partly be fit for use by spring..

elona will pop by mr t later and browse the magazine section and see who has the illusive free ikea book. I hope its one of the cheapy ones, if there is such a thing.

Son in law has been round he has just cut his finger, its quite deep so I came to the rescue with my sterri strips. Used a pack on 2 fingers. Covered it all over and the bleeding has stopped. He refused to go to the hospital as a) they always need to give an injection and b) I have it all in the cupboard, and I am far quicker. Somewhere in there is a compliment. Nurse hat has been removed, and time for a cuppa before puppy needs feeding. x

For a guy that is effusive praise!!

A female would have said " Gosh! I would have waited hours in an a and e for that and been really worried." Thank you so much. You are fantastic and so reassuring etc.

DH has just informed me next time I am ill he will look after me, which is sweet. I told him that if he had not got me to A and E five years ago I would probably not be here so it is not a point scoring system.

If you can't find the mag I don't mind getting it myself and posting you the inclusion if you are stuck and in a hurry.

Nutty - I wonder if you try phoning or emailing Ikea and explain that you are a long drive from them but want to make a special trip to spend lots of money ;) and could they kindly post you a catalogue? Worth a try to save the postage?

You can see the whole book online Nutty - you can order most of it from there now too - postage is high but I figure sometimes it's cheaper to order just what I need and have it delivered than go to our nearest store(Dartford) where I'll end up buying stuff I didn't go in for.

It's obligatory to buy tea lights though isn't it?

Fudds and Mrs LW hope you have a lovely time.

DH is off out tonight to his astronomy club or as we call it "standing in a field twiddling with your knob club" :) Plenty of helpers to get him from the car to the place he needs to be and help him set up so I don't need to go! Much as I love looking through the scope, I love sitting on the sofa in my jimjams too and may well have brought some nice cheese to have with a glass of wine later.

Elona - Glad your DH is doing ok on the chemo - great news that he's eating x

Nuttyp step way from the Ikea book....resist...resist :D

Pooky wish I could find a club like that for OH he is driving me dippy. Mind you he is a much nicer person now he has given up the cricket paperwork, all stress of it gone and no more trophies under my bed, on my shelves, filling the spare room -breathe a sigh of relief smiley.

Well I had best go and mop the kitchen floor beacause apparently it wont do itself - I have waited to see but no :(
