If you can find enough energy to get up off the couch today you can have a bar of chocolate MAR, and if you can manage to do a job you can lie down again afterwards with a sweetie or two, Motiviation???0

I really really need some motivation. Dying slug doesn't even come close.
DittoThinking of you Mar. I have some washing up to do and I keep putting it off, can't face it, but must do it soon so I've got room to cook later. DH can't do it as the sink's too low for him and he has back trouble as it is.
monnagran So lovely that you're back! We've missed you terribly! It sounds as if things have been horribly hectic - glad it's gradually settling down now (((HUGS)))
Mrs LW Hope DD is feeling much better now, bless her.
Welcome shanks and, aagh, so sorry, I can't remember the name of the other new person but lovely to have you anyway! (I don't have a memory these days, I have a forgettery.)
Pooky So glad you're feeling a bit better and that OH's dad's visit went well
nursemaggie - How frustrating for youI hope FairyPrincess's link is helpful, and good to know you can get a bus from Stockport at least.
I think we'll have to see about getting a new gas cooker; we stopped using one of the four burners several years ago as it had corroded (no idea why, as the others have been fine), and yesterday the flame on the burner I was using was blue-and-orange rather than just blue as it should be.......It's done well, as we bought it when we moved in here 31 years ago, but I bet the new one we buy won't last nearly as long.
At least the Carbon Monoxide detector is still quite happy.0 -
Thanks IVYLEAF she's getting there and has accepted that dairy and sugar are currently only in very limited amounts. She's so tired though, I think she'll be better after getting through the GCSE results day tomorrow. Teachers get such bad press from the government but they should see how much she cares and stresses before these days when the future of the kids she teaches is decided. Perhaps then the Department of Education would actually stop moving the goalposts and let teachers get on with teaching instead of constantly having to devise new lesson plans and exam strategies. It would help too if the decision to mark exam papers to a different standard was put out before the exams and not just after they've been sat!!!
She and He Who Knows are currently playing in a canadian canoe on the River Wye somewhere near Symmons Yat and hopefully enjoying the sunshine and having a great time, Lyn xxx.0 -
Ivyleaf, you certainly had your moneys worth from your cooker. Most people would be baffled how we manage quite happily with 3 rings . My washer is not happy, it fills slower than a trickle and we have checked all the obvious things so I fill it with a jug - well 10 jugs to be exact but it only takes a few minutes and must be saving money on heating up the water in it so I really dont give a fig!
Monna  lovely to hear from you xx
pooky glad you are feeling more like your old self today, being a carer can be very weary making when added into the mix of life and kids - ask me how I knowI had Dgs for most of the last 2 days and am not even on automatic pilot. We took him to his minder for a couple of hours before taking him to see his paediatrician yesterday and when I picked him up another minder was shouting at him - Oh my goodness there was nearly bloodshed, my boy was sobbing - his minder was angry with her too but I calmly picked him up and left. Dd is going to sort it out today  .
Just been to hospital with Oh - 2 hour trip ....insert yawning smiley -he is having another spinal injection soon as the first one didnt work. Lovely nurse who actually listened - :T Now Im going to have a rest, think I deserve it.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

Nice to have you back Monna can't you tell we all missed you.
Thought you must have moved to the South Seas where they do not have the internet but I can guess which company you are with.
It took them 6 weeks last time we moved and I was working on the internet. They forgot:mad:. This time it was next day.0 -
Ginny - I can imagine how angry DD must be at that minder - there's no excuse for it. I loved my time as a childminder and tried to be the best I could but I know there's some "less than average" ones out there. Hope DH's injection does the trick this time round.
Ivy - I got a new cooker when we did the kitchen last year, I love it to bits, every bit of it does what it's supposed to....after living in rented houses for years with ovens that barely got warm and thermostats that blew up I am very, very grateful to be in a position to pick and chose what I want.
Well the conservatory man came, oiled all the windows, reseated the door as he wasn't happy with it and then identified the leaks before we even told him where they were! He was straight up there, moved the glass back into place (it had slipped), tightened a few bits up and bobs your uncle! Hopefully that will make us completely water proof now.
Just been for a walk along the cliffs to clear my head and to give my neck a break from bending over my cutting board - was gorgeous up there, just sunny enough to be warm but with a gentle breeze to keep me cool. Mind and body restored.....even more so at the thought of bacon and eggs for tea
GCSE results day tomorrow!!!! DD2 is besides herself. Fingers crossed everyone."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
