Money to save and no idea where to put it

Friendly advice is appreciated - I have approx 60k that I want to invest but have absolutely no idea where to invest it. It is very unlikely that I need access to the money for at least 1 - 2 years but would obviously like to get some return on the money. Also advice on tax etc. Thank you please

1-2 years is not a long enough time frame to invest. Stick with savings accounts or look at NS&I

If you would transfer the money to me for 1-2 years I would gladly give you some return on your money, and I will promise it wont be too taxing for you.:D

    Sorry, couldnt resist it,

How about max out isa allowance, stick a bit into Premium bonds if you feel lucky, max out some of the regular savers, or rephrase your question and you might find that dunstonh will be able to give more information and he does generally from what I have seen give out good information.

I have changed my request to "friendly" as opposed to legitimate as suggested
