I recently applied for the Halifax reward current account online, in which I received a letter saying I already had products with them with a different address (my mums) to the one I applied with (mine). So i needed to go into branch to discuss with someone. This apparantly is a savings account and must have been opened when I was a little nipper.
So 2 questions. Is there a way to cancel this savings account over the phone or do I need to go into branch?
Also, this reward current account I recently applied for, I went into branch and decided not to go ahead with opening the account. The person said they could see my application online and it was left with me saying i,'ll go away and have a think about it.............so now I've decided I don't want to open it do I need to go in and cancel my application or can I just leave it as is? No account has been opened yet, its just my application for an account is pending and on there system. Will this make any difference when applying for other accounts?
Many thanks

You need to really resolve it rather than just leaving it. If it is their counter fraud department that stopped it because of the address miss match you dont want them to take silence to mean its fraudulent and you end up with a fraud marker against your name0
