Hi,
I just had the National Grid out who found I have a leak at my gas fire
I have now rung an engineer to come round to look at getting it fixed.
Am wondering the cost for this?! I know each job will be difference but thinking of a rough estimate.
Thanks
Sarah

Depends whether the leak is inside the gas fire, from accessible pipework or buried pipework? If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

Well from what the first man said I think it is on the outside (maybe a bolt/nut not connected) and hopefully not behind the wall!0

Whenever someone comes to your house no matter how small the job maybe there's going to be a minimum call-out fee.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

A gas engineer previously told us that if it's gas, the minimum he'll charge is £50.
If it's an accessible pipe though - or as something as simple as a loose bolt - I'd imagine £50-£75? (Depends on the area though)0 -
;)Its probably a quite common easy fix problem, but as it would be illegal for you to fix I would have to restrict ya c0ck;)
The professionals will understand me and what it probably is :rotfl:Signature removed0 -
........I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
If it's an emergency, and the gas fitter charges a call out fee, that is understandable. But if he gives you an appointment, say, for next day, he can include it in his normal round of jobs, so no call out charge.0
