Just got back from holiday to find parking ticket from Excel at Stockport peel centre. This is a CCTV photo of my car parking in the car park and then a photo of the car leaving. There was no notice on my car when I got back from shopping, so did not know had been given a ticket until now. This was a bank holiday, where I thought parking in Stockport is free. Do I pay??????????

Not sure now. when checked on web sit they have new sighs with Bigger pay and display sigh on them and with the cctv pictures, what do I do?. but did not see sigh. or pay and display mc? only when checked on the web page. :(

  • No you do not pay

Send a very basic appeal to them saying

I do not believe you have the legal right to issue invoices on this lad. If you disagree then please issue me with a popla code. I have nothing further to add

    Regards

    Happy shopper

Then when they reject this appeal come back and we will help you sort a full popla appeal

@twinnie123 - thanks for PM. I agree with the above post, don't waste any energy at this stage, get the POPLA code and we'll go from there.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

How about simply searching the parking forum (not the whole MSE forum) for simple keywords 'Excel Peel Centre'. So many threads about this place including a couple this month. Try it now, there's a 'search this forum' button...not here on your thread of course, but on the current forum! Do not read old threads more than 3 months old and do NOT pay nor ignore this fake PCN.

Calm down and read up on how to challenge it and signage will be just one of a dozen or so appeal points when you get to POPLA stage. Not sure what POPLA is...? Then you need to read the forum threads, any will do...then post here first, a draft of the simple (NO EXCUSES, NO DRIVER IDENTIFIED) challenge you want to send them.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
