I will be very greatfull if anyone can tell me why my internet always disconnects when i turn the pc on.

what way do you connect - wireless or cabled?
what speed connection are you supposed to be on?

How can the internet be connected while the PC is off? Are switching the PC on or is this when it comes out of powersaving/ standby?

No i am connected to xbox live and when i turn the pc on the internet connection disconnects

There are a few things it could be
The most common problem is due to filters either a faulty one or not enough of them installed. So make sure you have a filter on all the phone sockets.

I take it your 360 and PC are both wired direct in to the router?

Try removeing the 360 and see how the pc goes on its own, if it works it is likley you may have an ip address conflict when you have both connected at the same time. if that is the case you may want to set your ip addreses to auto configuration and enable DHCP on the router which is normall the default anyway.

I take it when you switch the pc on you are disconnected from xbox live?
