Bordeaux help!

Hello!
I need to travel to Bordeaux on 19 July and return on 22 July. I can't find flights cheaper than £180! I can't travel by ferry as I get really sea sick
Crazily I've never been to France
so I'm not sure if there'd be another way to get to Bordeaux cheaper but fairly easy - fly somewhere nearby and get a train etc? (I'll be on my own and want to keep things as simple as possibe!)
Anyone got any advice or suggestions? I live in Bristol so can get to lots of nearby places.

Travelling 19/7 and returning 22/7 (PEAK SEASON and over a week-end) I suggest anything other than flying gives you no time at your destination.
Shop around but bite the bullet and pay up at this late stage I think.0 -
That's what I thought, thanks Bob. I only found out today that I need to go so no avoiding the timing - was hoping that horrible timed flights might have saved the day but they don't!0

My favourite rail website shows its viable - albeit longer - by train - http://www.seat61.com/France.htm#London to Bordeaux by train
(copy and paste the whole url incl the 'Bordeaux by train bit' as its not pasting right)
And clicking thru to rail Europe shows returns a shade under £180... but ten hours each way? On the other hand, by air you have to factor in airport travel time, cost and/or parking, check-in time and more stress than sitting on the Eurostar with a paper and a pic-nic!0 -

He'd also have to factor in travelling from Bristol to London ........

Oops, sorry- when all else fails, read the OP!
Although you could carve £30-40 off by travelling out a day early with Easyjet from Bristol according to
