Is this if you die in the garden?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I presume that what is wanted a company that invests ethically.
I realise it's an insurance and not an investment but there may be some underlying investment (in whole life policies there must be some investment because they WILL pay out eventually).0 -
Green life insurance is life cover supported by a company that has green principles and may use their income to invest or promote ethical investments
The green market is opening up but i have not heard of a company promoting life cover as green.0 -
There is no investment element and all life assurance companies re-insure so whilst a retailer/provider could call themselves green, the companies they deal with wont.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I think just about every public company - whatever their business - will claim to have some kind of "green policy" or "sustainability policy". The difficulty will be identifying those that put "green" or "ethical" issues before some other business priority, if that's what you're looking for.
I don't think Aviva (Norwich Union) spring to mind as a "green" insurer .... but their Environmental Policy sounds pretty convincing
Other Corporate Social Responsibility policies here.
All big companies donate to charities too and many give employees paid time off and encourage them to participate in charitable activities.
I find it very difficult to evaluate what is and isn't green when it comes to selecting product and/or service providers.
No specific "green" insurer springs to mind, but they all seem to claim to have "green" principles (but then they would, wouldn't they)
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
The cooperative bank has an ethical policy and there are more details on their website

The CIS harp on about their green credentials a lot but my brother works for them and he says behind the scenes they are anything but green.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
