holidays for 1 adult and 1 child

I have been looking at holiday websites and trying to plan a holiday for myself and my daughter. However, lots of holidays are charging for two adults, even when I am specifying just 1 (and child being added separately on top of this).

Can anyone recommend companies which cater for 1 adult & 1 child scenarios or have other suggestions?!

thanks

do it separately ie buy flights then the accommodation of your choice on top.

Try travelrepublic or Expedia, I also found Easyjet holidays weren't too bad for their holidays for one adult, one child (age 12) when I was looking a couple of months ago. They weren't that much more than booking everything separately.

Depending on when you go, Direct Holidays, Airtours, (all part of Thomas Cook group) some of the hotels have single parent offers,

We did it for a holiday we went in May, I paid adult price for me, and DD the child price plus single room supplement, we saved £300.

What happens it all the rooms are "brought" from the hotel based on 2 adult occupancy so if they put adult and child (at free or really cheap) the tour company loses money!

Its a case of some footwork, but as others have suggested you may get a better deal doing, flight, hotel.
