Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland!

silly me! i didn't know that these 2 were different banks!! i went into RBS to verify my name and address for an account I had opened at BOS!! :rolleyes:

    bank of scotland and halifax are one! you can do all bank of scotland transactions through halifax. i thought their websites looked similar :rolleyes:

    Not strictly true. There are a number of old Bank of Scotland accounts that are not on the same system as the Halifax accounts and as a result you can not transact on these in Halifax branches.

    All branches in Scotland can process any transaction for a BoS or Halifax customer, branches in England can't offer full service unless they were previously a BoS branch or the account now sits on the Halifax system (you can tell if an account is on the Halifax system if it has a Roll Number i.e. D/12345678-09 or 2/12345678-09). There is an exception to this, but usually only affects business or corporate customers.

    Yell has a couple of BoS branches listed in Northumbia and one in Derbyshire.

    theres a bos business branch in nottingham, quite a few round the borders etc
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.
