Hi
I have an Archos AV500 and can just about work out how to transfer my photos from my camera onto it. ( I have to do it via a card reader as it won't see my camera Ricoh R5 )
But the prolem I am having is that is just dumps the photos onto the hard drive but I can't seem to find a way to direct the photos straight into a folder.
I am going to Egypt soon and want to store all my photos on there to free up my memory cards, and would like to have some sort of order if I can.
What am I doing wrong?
Can anyone help me out, or point me to a website that would explain how I could do it ( I try my best but am really stuck on this one )
Thanks

You stick the card in the card reader, then what happens?
Presumably the card shows up as an extra drive in your "My computer"?
In which case surely its just a matter of drag and drop?0 -
You might want to try a specific site for the Archos products try here http://forum.archosfans.com/
I have the 604 which is a brill bit of kit but I only use it for films and music, not photo's. I do know it does not like me transferring complete music albums in their own folders to the drive and they do not appear in the drive / folder structure but do take up the allocated space on the drive. I do know the direct USB connection can be a bit temperamental as to which devices it will play along with. perhaps the only option, short term is to put up with there they end up and then rearrange them using a laptop / PC when you get the chance.Signature No Longer acceptable -

I've had an Archos 340 for years. I just connect it up to the pc via USB. Then connect card reader to pc as well. On the pc, navigate to photos folder and create new folders in there. Drag & drop files.0

I have the AV700, and if I want to move pictures around (or add them) I do it via the computer, using Windows Explorer, it makes it very easy to move everything around. The other way to do it on mine is to select the folder you want the files to end up in, then ask it to copy the pictures. I don't know with yours, but with mines it's left hand side of screen, then right hand side. Good luck.
Just one other thing, I have elected not to take mine with me, I've simply invested in extra cards for the pictures (I'm going to Kenya so have bought 6GB!).What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
