Hi all new to the forum and was looking for guidance about an settlement offer i have just recieved. Its about two credit cards one from 1997 and the other 2001.The first one from 1997 halifax card had £2500 pound balance for roughly two rears and was cleared in 2000. The other from 2001 is my current credit card and is a halifax gold apr 20.1%,which at one point had a £8000 balance for two years but has always had around £3000 on it until recently. I was mis-sold ppi on these cards and the halifax initailly didnt up-hold the complaint after the Finacial ombudsman reviewed the case the upheld it.the Halifax have just sent me an offer for £3400 for both credit cards. This for me was a relief to have justice but the offer does not seem a fair offer considering the time they were opened. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please. And what course would i be able to take? many thanks.

The redress on upheld complaints is defined. It's a refund of all PPI paid plus 8% simple interest.I was mis-sold ppi on these cards and the halifax initailly didnt up-hold the complaint after the Finacial ombudsman reviewed the case the upheld it.the Halifax have just sent me an offer for £3400 for both credit cards. If you know for certain and have evidence to show that you paid more than they are offering then refuse the offer and refer again to FOS.
It's possible the Bank does not have records going back so far, but if you don't either then I can't see you being successful in getting anymore than they've offered.0 -
Would it be worth me asking the bank for my past statements ? it just seems a low ammount. Many Thanks for the reply.0
