First Direct Joining Bonus

I know there are various other threads on this, and I've looked at them. Just want to check. Am I correct in thinking that just one transaction of £1000 through a 1st account in and straight back out within 3 months of opening, together with using the switching service to transfer 2 standing orders to the account, would satisfy the conditions for the £100 joining bonus?

Yes.
You can even do it twice if you want.0 -
I switched to First Direct when the bonus was £125 and wondered why I did not receive it. I had moved my direct debits myself, because it was quicker, and did not use the Easyswitch service. Apparently that means I am not eligible. I argued that when I switched through Money Saving Expert, no mention was made of this, and that the only criteria were to add £1000 and switch at least two direct debits. They tell me that Money Saving Expert were at fault and should have mentioned it. They did agree to pay me the bonus 'as a gesture', but tell me I will not be eligible for the £100 if I leave.
So, the moral is, don't do the switching yourself0 -
i opened the First account on 12/6/13 paid in my wages on the 20/6/13 my transfer date for direct debits is set for 11/7/13 so i will let you know when i get my £100.
i thought the same as you that it would be quicker just to change the DD myself but it is on their website in order to get the £100 you have to use their Easyswitch service like with Halifax you also have to use their switching service.
personally i don't understand why we need to use their switching services? its more work for them and its slower. but i think its because they like to make *sure you switch all of them. with FD they just sent me a letter saying we are transferring all the DD and let us know what ones you don't want to switch by sending back the form. well sending the form is going to time and effort so i just let them all go over.Age: 24 / London/Ireland / Salary €49,000 / 1 London BTL (8% yield) / Total savings pot £12k+

can anyone actually confirm how soon the money goes into your account after your direct debit transfer date? Mines 4/7 and I've already paid £1000 into my account from my natwest account twice. However I have been reading elsewhere on here that they want salary for 3 months, can anyone confirm that they have successfully got the money using my method and how quick?0

Hi maunders
I opened my 1st account on 06/04/13. I used the switcher service to transfer two standing orders from Nationwide and my first months salary went in on 29/04/13. I received my joining incentive of £125 on 12/05/13.
