Used Ford Focus - Age/Mileage
Hi All,
We are looking to buy a used car and I was hoping to get some opinions.
We have £3k - £3.5k to spend. We have no trade in as been using company car up until now.
We do not use the car much during the week and usually pretty short, local journeys. We travel to the South of France about twice a year. We do quite a lot of camping and ski every winter so we need some space.
After reading this forum I think we're pretty much settled on a 1.6 petrol Ford Focus (unless anyone thinks we're on the wrong track here?)
Can anyone offer an opinion of what sort of age/mileage combo we could expect or should aim for within our budget?
Thanks in advance.

Go to Autotrader, select miles from your postcode that you are willing to travel, then minimum £3000.
For your budget expect a fantastic mk1 or a good mk2.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
I'm a total car dunce so I'm not sure what counts as mk1 and what as mk2?
What would count as 'fantastic' for each of those?0 -
Fantastic would be high spec, low miles, excellent condition, full Ford history. Mk1 is the first shape Focus from about 98 , Mk2 is from 2005 onwards different shape.
Aim for a Zetec model as you get decent spec including Quickclear heated windscreen which will be handy for the ski conditions.0 -
Maybe upsize to a Mondeo, More car for less money.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
