Help!! Parking fine!

Hi,

I was parked in a space where i had used another users ticket, i didn't realise that you had to put your registration in the pay n display machine.

I have received a parking fine in the post from EXCEL which i didn't read because i thought it was relating to a previous one that i had paid.

I have received now a debt collectors letter from ROXburghe stating they want £160. Which i phoned them and stated everything what had happend but told them i didn't receive the first letter.

I have read a few post, but from a while ago, saying you just ignore the letters, is this still the case?

I am a bit concerned aswell because after reading them post they have said just keep on ignoring but i have been in contact with the debt collectors and am worried if they can in fact still pursue with the fine and take me to court after they know i have received their letter and was the one who parked without a ticket.

please advise if i should still ignore or i should pay?

It's not a parking fine at all and the same question is asked every day on here about debt collectors like Roxburghe/Graham White:

Try putting the word 'Roxburghe' into the search box at the top right of this parking forum thread list. Obviously ignore them at this stage.

By the way why the flippin heck did you ever pay Excel?! Did you not know these are fake fines?

    :)

Annoyingly, Excel is owned by a very rich bloke called Simon Renshaw-Smith who owns a large Derbyshire property and cars and horses, and whose privately-educated duaghters compete in horse shows with the Royal family.

All because people believe his firm can issue 'parking tickets' when they are nothing of the sort. These firms make their money from victims who can ill afford it and apparently that's how he made his recent money (as well as an old claim to fame as 'captain clampit' I think the newspapers called him years ago).

Google his name and you can see where your money went.

Just keep all the letters, don't send them back and do open them to make sure you don't ever get sent a rare small claim. That would be obviously from Northampton court, not a bog-standard letter from 'DebtCollectorsRUs'! and 'Graham White Solicitors' (= Roxburghe using different paper to scare people).
