Newlyn Bailiffs Council Parking Ticket Help Needed ASAP

Hi,
I received a parking ticket from the council but was unable to pay it and I guess stupidly buried my head in the sand. They sent me a letter saying that they were taking me to court which I only received a few days before. I phoned and was told it was too late for them to do anything but they would write to me after the court date and I would have 16 days to pay from the date of the letter.
They didn't write to me and then I received a "notice of seizure" from Newlyn PLC Bailiffs.
I phoned them and was told that first of all they have added £15 for a hire purchase search and secondly that the maximum time they would give me was 7 days to pay. I pleaded with them to extend that for 5 more days until my payday but they wouldn't budge and said they would be dispatching bailiffs if I didn't pay in 7 days. That was 7 days ago so I have until midnight tonight to pay and I really don't have the money. Ive phoned them again today and tried to get them to hold the action until Tuesday and they wont budge and also phoned the council who say they can't do anything, even though the information they gave me about receiving a letter after the court date was wrong.
Is there anything at all I can do? I have every intention of paying them as soon as I have the money on Tuesday.
I live with my parents who will go absolutely ape if a bailiff turns up at their house and borrowing money from them isn't an option. I also obviously don't want my car to get clamped.
(Please spare any lectures as it will only make me feel worse than I already do!! I know I have been dumb!)

It will cost you £10 though.
EDIT - make sure you move your car somewhere so they can't find it.0 -

DO NOT PAY A BAILIFF until you have checked with bailiffadviceonline. Most bailiff accounts are artificially inflated I believe so Sheila at BAO can advise you about this and is likely to save you a lot more money than the £10 to register on her website. She will also give you confidence to know what's allowed and what isn't, in terms of bailiff claims and their actions, rather than panicking about it.
In the meantime, hide the car under cover, ideally out of sight at night in a garage (or in a different town at a friend's house).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
