Has anyone taken a holiday in Mundesley, Norfolk? Thinking of it but don't know a thing about it so comments appreciated!

I stayed near there last year (with my mum) and its lovely. Wonderful coastal walks just a short distance away, or further afield if you want. We went out to see the seals at Blakeney (what a wonderful experience). We also did a far amount of amateur bird watching - well to be more accurate mum knows what she's talking about, and I was happy to have the birds pointed out to me. We both had a fantastic 5 days in Norfolk.SPC No:118:j (6) £468.74 (7)

I live in Norwich and have visited Mundesley regularly over the years.
It's a smallish coastal village with a great sandy beach that is never crowded. There is a steep and winding path down to the beach as the village is on the cliffs above, might be a consideration if mobility is a problem. There's not a whole lot in Mundesley itself a few shops around a green, a couple of pubs, a windmill, a beachtop cafe and the smallest amusement arcade I've ever seen, but it has a certain quiet charm. It's also close to other coastal locations, Wells, Blakeney, Cromer, Sheringham etc if you wanted a bit of a change. It's a nice stretch of coast. It's probably a bit under an hour from the medieval/modern city of Norwich if you wanted a city day or the weather proves inclement! Also about half an hour from posh little Georgian town of Holt (steam train to Sheringham!).
If you let me know your holiday interests I might be able to suggest further options.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -

Thanks for this great info! We like walking, national trust places, nice restaurants, etc. A nice quiet base to be in by the sounds of it, but would you recommend an even better base?0
