What is this wall made of?

This is what was under the plaster in a bedroom of my ex-LA terraced house:


The white parts are panels and are made of a plaster-like material, but not crumbly. You can see where I damaged it with the chisel, but it's fairly robust. The joints contain some sort of "cement" or similar.
Any idea what we call this?
I plan to dot and dab plasterboard onto it, if possible...

It's a lightweight cementatious insulating block , similar to Siporex

Ah, great - thanks. I've had a quick google and it's not mentioned a great deal. Do you know much about plastering on top of it?0 -
