Does anyone have a link or list of utility companies that do not charge a standing charge, so to save me money when my property is empty?

Go to your favourite switching site.
Enter a very low usage (some will not let you enter zero).

Ebico : http://www.ebico.org.uk
Utility Warehouse : https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk
There may be others.0 -
A Daily Standing charge is now almost universal, as Ofgem the regulator has decreed that this is the way service charges should be collected - There may be a few old tariffs around that offer NSC, but these will gradually die out.
You could try Ebico who have never had a specified Service Charge, but charge a high unit cost - They can be good news for low users, but not for normal households0 -

Why do you specifically want a NSC tariff?
You say you want to save money, so wouldn't the cheapest deal be best?

Why is the property empty?
Are you aware that many councils apply a 50% council tax surcharge to properties that are empty for over 2 years?0 -

Ok, the property could be empty for several months as I will be living overseas again and start renting it. But as it's also my only property, I'm a bit fussy who I rent to, so may be empty for some time. I used to be with British Gas for elec & gas and no ST charge. Since a previous tenant changed to Scottish Power, when it became empty before I had something like £12 per month St charge. I want to find good deal but not pay this money when empty. And yes I will already be paying full council tax:mad: until it is rented even though I will be living overseas!0 -
Scottish Power still have no standing charge options with some tariffs - you could have requested a change of tariff with them, probably.0

Their standard tariff with NSC appears to have higher tariff rates than both Ebico and Utility Warehouse, though. Personally if I was the OP I would go with Ebico as they are slightly cheaper than UW, which comes into its own when you have more services as well, like phone and broadband (not recommended on an empty property lol). Not sure their monthly billing model is a big plus in the case of an empty property with little consumption to worry about, either.0 -

Woith due respect, you haven't answered the question. Why don't you want the cheapest deal? If you don't use any energy, and you choose wisely, you may find a supplier that actually pays you
Even if the property is empty, someone will need to inspect it regualrly as part of your insurance requirements. What's more, you should consider having some low level heat left on during the winter months to avoid possible frost damage to water pipes and damp/mould developing in the property.
Again, this may be a requirement of your insurers (or otherwise you have to drain down all water pipes and disconnect all power - which means any burglar alarm won't work)
And as I indicated, if the property remains empty for over 2 years, you could see a 50% increase in the council tax you are currently paying0 -

I hope to have it rented back out again within a few months, certainly before winter kicks in!. At the moment I'm still overseas and get my house back start July and only staying 7 weeks in UK.
I quickly looked at UW but it seemed to want to sign me up to something right now! I want a reasonable good deal for the next tenant too as well as my short stay, how does UW work against go compare type websites? None seem to say if standing charge or not which was my original concern!0 -

So you are going to be living in the house yourself July and most of August.
And you will probably need the heating on come September (or you manage to rent it in which case the energy bills will not be your problem)0
