I never knew London was so expensive ... and that is subsidised?0 -
...A question for DOT as a taxpayer and hence contibuting towards the subsidy can I go and eat in any or indeed all of the restaurants should be visiting London?Parliament is open to all members of the UK public and overseas visitors. You can attend debates and watch committee hearings, tour the buildings or climb the famous Elizabeth Tower and see Big Ben.Refreshments are available from the Jubilee Cafeteria which is open to all visitors.
...
The Jubilee Cafe situated off Westminster Hall serves a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks. There are no refreshment facilities available to unescorted visitors in Portcullis House.

A huge amount of our sovereignty has now been exported to Brussels, can one voter in 100 name their Euro MP and know about the terms and conditions applying to that gravy train ? When did the auditors last sign off those accounts?
Was it "only" an austerity 6% increase in the budget us proles were expected to cough up this year?
The people on the inside of a technostructure always end up expanding their power and running it for their own convenience, not that of the "customers" footing the bill - that's you and me chipping in nearly 50% of the people's money, for them to spend on our behalf.
At least we in England still do have a safety valve for our "diversified" society and some sort of democratic control, over the UK bureaucracy via the political pantomime in the Palace of Westminster.
Anyone who is prepared to explain what can be achieved and how, via this structure is to be welcomed.
How about starting with the common misconceptions about what can and cannot be achieved in Westminster any more; because it has been delegated up to Brussels or down to the local authorities, quango or the "Noddy" local parliaments or been dumped on our grandchildren via PFI contractual outsourcing ?0
