Private Medical Insurance can be bought for all the family as a group of individual policies or it can be bought on a single policy that covers "the family".
Family options often cover "all" your children and so if you have more than one kid it may well be a cheaper option.
The only downside to a Family policy is that if one of you does become ill or such and it drives the premiums up too high to continue cover for that family member then getting new individual policies could be a problem if any of you have pre-existing conditions where as with individual policies you'd simply terminate that one and leave the others running.0 -
As it sounds, individual will insurer yourself & maybe a partner, family insurance will cover a raft of dependants.0
