Hi there
I was declared bankrupt in Oct 2007.... nearly 6 years ago. THis was a very unfortunate experience and I have well learnt from it.
I have been trying to build up credit score, have a current account and have a credit card which i clear each month, sole purpose of which is to rebuild my rating.
ANyway.... got an experian report and my report says my credit score is excellent.... 964. There is no mention of the bankruptcy.
I would like to get a mortgage next year..... does anyone know if i need to mention it?? i.e do they ask have you 'ever' been bankrupt????

Some ask "Have you ever" and others ask "Are you".
Mortgage lenders check against the register and not just your credit file, so whatever they ask you, ensure you answer correctly.
Having a massive, above average deposit will help you too being ex-BR.0 -
It is possible, if you wait the full 6 years it will be better. Plenty of people on here who are discharged now have mortgage, some even at 95% (though this has been with a partner). There are lots of variables. Search for the thread by the lorax. Lots of useful advice.£2 Savers club £0/£150
