    Hello from not-so-sunny-NI today :(

What did I do?? Ummmm... Spent money like it was going out of fashion :o:o:o

But I was on holiday therefore icecream and junk food just have to be consumed ;):)

Bought myself a bicycle too :D I sold my car last year so that's one big expense I don't have every month, so figured I could justify getting myself a good bike. Test ride was about 9 miles last night :) And I've lived to tell the tale - bonus! ;):D

NSD figures are brilliant this month! Very well done everybody :T

Well Done on buying a bike - a mode of transport that keeps you fit and helps save money too :). My Tip - don't try to start off by trying to emulate Bradley Wiggins , just go for short journeys to begin with , say a coupe of miles then gradually take it from there...

I wouldn't survive if I tried that!! Yeah, walk before you can run sorta thing?! ;)

Spendy day today :( Had to get a birthday card for my niece, so bought it, one for my nephew and one for my sister while I was at it :) If I'd had the time, I'd have got one for dad, DD1, DD2 and friend while I was at it!!

Just for anyone interested, Card Factory has a pretty decent range of cards: 5 for £1 or 7 for £1!! They're all general birthdays, but handy to have as spares/emergency backup maybe?! :)

    Another card factory fan here.
The M & S quid ones are good too & you get a wee card & get a stamp for every one bought & thevn a fee card after buying six I think it is.

    :hello:

    Hi all NSD gang................

...........I have been AWOL for far too long, was away for first week then when I came back I had got an infection from the tooth I had out and felt dreadful :( and what a week that was, MOT done then the car broke down at the end of the week.......probably would have been quieter if I had gone straight back to work LOL. Since I've been back at work it's all been a bit mad too oh well!!

Consequences though is I've been spending too much  Have only managed to get up to 6 and looking at the calender there are only six days left to get the target in  but need to tighten up. Next month I will have to get back to the 'enveloping' for spend days as I seem to lose it when I'm not doing that.

Not really had time to catch up on thread so big thanks to everyone for updating it, congrats to all not spending and for other celebratory things and big hugs to everyone that needs them

Promise to get back in more regularly

    :hello:

    Hi,

Sunday and today have been two NSD. I'm considering trying to book a family holiday away next Easter. My youngest will be nearly 2 and a half by then and my eldest has been on broad a couple of times but not since we had DD2. I keep talking myself out of it and then back into it! I was certain that we weren't going to and then my childminder has mentioned today that she will be taking all of Easter off as she is booking to go to Florida!! So, maybe I should as I will be 'saving' two weeks fees whilst she is away.
    Anyway, I digress...NSD #11!!

How about somewhere that you can get to via the Eurostar? Not sure of the cost vs flights (if you're thinking abroad) but it could be a consideration (just based on something a friend with a 2yr old mentioned at the weekend). Where are you thinking?

Just for anyone interested, Card Factory has a pretty decent range of cards: 5 for £1 or 7 for £1!! They're all general birthdays, but handy to have as spares/emergency backup maybe?! :)

Enjoy the new bike HeadAboveWater - Chris Froome watch out :rotfl:

I'm another fan of the 7 for £1 cards, decent quality and since my OH is one of six, by the time you factor in various nieces / nephews etc it gets a lot. I think I've got cards now to last until next year :rotfl: I find the selection is better in-between other card events such as Valentines, Mothers Day etc IYKWIM? Only thing is if I get multiples of some (esp as some of the kids are similar ages) I forget what I sent to whom previously - I'm sure I've sent some of them the same card two years in a row :o Have started putting names on the wrappers now to keep track of who they are for.

I do also have a M&S card with stamps on, buy the £1 cards to get the stamps then get the expensive cards free :rotfl: We also have a local card / craft shop that does some lovely cards in it, not the cheapest on on par with the main shops and always something a little different, they do a card collection scheme too and I do get some bits in there to support the local store.

Welcome back kathy40uk - sorry to hear about your tooth and the car, I know what you mean about time off - sounds like the week I had in April, was glad to get back to work.

Well a bonus of being poor is that it's easier to get NSD - so NSD #13 in the bag :j
As well as making an effort to eat healthily I'm trying to use up some of the freezer stock thats been lingering for a while - since OH went veggie I've been feeling guilty about the lack of room for anything for him due to all the meat. Got two ideas to cook but one's a pork shoulder and the other is turkey wings, both which take hours, so not exactly midweek suppers. Hey ho - just helps me plan for the weekend i suppose :A

Made it back to boot camp today after ditching yesterday morning - a great day to be doing one based on actual military training / fitness - 'just' the 28 degrees :eek::eek:

I have picked up a little pace with 8 today but tomorrow is likely to be a spend day as need some food.

Enjoy the rest of your evening. It keeps threatening to rain here. I wish it would just to clear the air a bit.
