14 day cancellation and creditfile footprint

Hi

Please someone could confirm my understanding

If you applied and got approved a credit card and cancel the same with within 14 days of Cooling off, the credit search be still recorded and it WILL NOT be wiped off as a result of cancellation?

The credit search will remain on your file for one year, two years (Callcredit) regardless.

Unless you have an annual fee charging credit card the cooling off period is basically irrelevant to credit cards.

The fact you applied is still true so the search stays. You may well find that the card appears on your CRA records too but will ultimately be showing as closed in month 1 but may take a cycle or two to get there.

I cancelled a card, probably was within the cooling off period but dont know, and this is what happened for me.
