Thanks everyone,
I have arranged some viewings for tomorrow so I will see where we go with them. With the morgatge agreed, it will hopefully be a quick process. Think I will try and stick to chain free if possible!0 -

We have extended the moving date, so ok there.
Just a thought, could I not go and ask the seller to drop the estate agents and deal straight with him? That way he would not have to pay there commission. I'm guessing that there would be some sort of contract that would stop it, but just an idea.0 -

You're right ... there is a contract. It wouldn't work.0 -
Thanks,
Lets hope karma deals him the turn he deserves.0 -
Estate agent has come back to me and said that his company have renegotiated their commission to 1% to push the sale through. He says that he will only make a £100 from the deal now and asked if I would 'look after him' for arranging it. Feel like I am being scammed, anyone had a similar experience?0

Tell the estate agent to get stuffed..cheeky sod..
They are acting for the seller who must pay them..I know they would like buyers to pay as well but do not get involved in games..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

I'd rarely trust an estate agent. Get them a bottle of bubbly once completed, job done.0
