I apologise for this having nothing to do with money saving and I appreciate that it may have to be moved.
My boyfriend works in Pembrokeshire and when I visit him I have to take the train to Port Talbot Parkway where he picks me up. I'm going in the summer, but he may have to work late which means I will have an hour or two to kill in Port Talbot. As it will be July, I'm hoping it will at least be sunny (fingers crossed!), so I'm happy to sit and read in a park or something. I've been to the station before but I only remember a car park and a pub! Can anyone recommend somewhere pleasant to sit for a while, which is within easy walking distance of the train station? Also any suggestions in case it's not so sunny?
Thanks for all replies.

Hiya, If you BF is in Pembs, why not take the train a little further down the line?
Next stop is Neat, then Swansea. Swansea has quite a lot to do.
Port Talbot has a shopping centre about 500yards away (maybe a little more, but walking down the main shopping street) or you could take a bus to Aberavon beach. The council have done that up nice these days and there is a nice walk along the beach.
I would still suggest taking the train a little further along the line, depending on where you BF is based or coming from, I would imagine it could cut down on the overall journey time considerably.0 -
I agree, taking one stop further and getting off at Neath may be a good idea as the town centre/shops are right next to the train station. I'm not sure about shops/parks in PT - I'm sure someone will be along soon with the inside info!!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0
