maybe the child would have stood a better chance of turning out the very opposite of "a right one" if she'd have had you behind her, fighting her corner and helping her become the person she had a chance of becoming. you have, in in a very real way, reduced her choices and aspirations to the point where the poor girl

I still don't get it why you resent your step-child yet seem to have no issue with your husband not working for donkey years. If it was my husband and he had a child, I would certainly have been giving him an ultimatum long by now!0
