Undercharged by Tesco online 2 months ago, now they want the payment!

Just looking to see if anyone can give me some advice, I ordered some clothing from Tesco online back in April. They have just sent me an email saying that they made a mistake and undercharged me by £25 and will be taking the payment from my debit card details within 14 days. Can they do this?

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you agree you were undercharged? If you do, yes they can now charge you.

Yes, they have 6 years to chase you for any debt (including underpayment) and can deduct from your card.

It is considered best practise to advise/warn the person after 6 months though.

How much was the total showing when you ordered the goods?

How much was actually taken from your account?

If your total showed as say £50 and they took £50 but they had made a mistake with their pricing then they can't now charge you the difference as the contract has been formed.

If your total showed as £50 but they only took £25 from your account then you still owe them the money and they have up to six years to take action against you.
