only that it mustn't be discriminatory. For example, if all the women were required to hit a target of 15, and the men only 10. Or anyone with any other protected characteristic had a different target to everyone else.

Of course not. But a cohesive working environment is normally achieved by something approaching fairness and/or equality. We are not a target-based organisation, at all, it's just currently the main focus.

I'm going to propose (and I think my co-workers will agree with me) that their is an informal agreement whereby some are expected to reach a higher target than others, but a formalised minimum target for everyone.

I kept saying to my bosses I do more and they said it was expected of me and I said I never knew I was doing 50% of the managers job to just get a .98% pay rise then after 4 years of this they then told me 'you all do the same job' to which I said was different to the previous 4 years and I got 0%!!

4 months later when I had my appraisal I was told ONLY do your own work. DO not get involved in anyone else's and I could not help people on the queries. I got it in writing and it backfired on them and I had to sit there and watch the boss tell directors he didn't know the answer.
