Home buyers survey delaying things...

Hey guys,

Last week we had an offer accepted and got our ball rolling!

We've applied for the mortgage, and today just found out the date for the home buyers survey, it's not for another 3 weeks =(

Just wondering how this can delay things, what happens in the meantime and what happens after it?

Cheers

  • I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I just wanted to say that we are the exact same situation, except ours isn't for another 5.5 weeks! Our seller is not happy, we're just waiting to see if it affects anything.

From what I've been told by the estate agent, in some areas there have been a lot of sales leading to a massive backlog for surveyors and valuers.

I'll be watching this thread with interest! Thanks for posting it!

It was the same for us to, 3 weeks. Two EA that I speak to weekly at the moment have both said they are having weeks delays with surveyors and can only assume they are overwhelmed with purchases at the moment. It hasn't delayed our process tho and we should be exchanging this week 5 weeks after offer was made.
