No PPI

I took out a loan in 2006 and refused point blank to take out a PPI policy because I work in the NHS.

However, I still have the offer letter which points out how important PPI was.

Unfortunately, because I refused the PPI, I was given the loan but at 2% higher interest rate than I had applied for.

Where do I stand? Can I claim back the additional interest I had to pay?

Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks!

    Where do I stand?
    Nowhere.
You can't possibly complain you paid a higher rate of interest simply because you refused PPI. You chose to agree to this rate without any compulsion.
You don't have a valid complaint, but on the positive side you don't have mis-sold PPI.

    Exactly where you should do.
Can I claim back the additional interest I had to pay

No. Firms are allowed to cross subsidise packages and deals with other products. You choose not to have it. You got the rate that applies for that.
