Successful appeal in loading bay

I just thought I'd share the benefit of what little experience I have of this subject.
A few weeks ago, my friend gave me, along with my folding bike and rucksack, a lift across London, dropping me off outside Earl's Court station. He specifically looked out for a marked loading bay as the road is a red route.
I was surprised when he phoned me a few days later to say he'd been given a ticket for parking in a loading bay (total time just over a minute).
To cut a long story short, this went to adjudication, and the Adjudicator decided in his favour. The deciding factor, in his opinion was the bike, which wasn't clearly visible in the CCTV. If there had only been me and my rucksack, that would have been "dropping off", which doesn't count as "unloading". But the bike made it unloading.
So I was delighted to have won. My friend, on the other hand wasn't so happy as he just hadn't lost. Taking his time and inconvenience into account, of course, he was still left out of pocket.

Well done - a typical example to show that people should always appeal to adjudication.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
