in Credit cards
I having some work done on the house and tho there has been no mention how to pay i wanted to pay on a credit card as if anything goes wrong i have more chance of money back. what if boss (not on site) says cash or debit card do we get any protection from using a debit card? what if he says can use CC but will charge you x% charge? any advice much appreciated

Maybe when getting quotes it would of been a good time to ask about how payment could be made!
Not that many tradesmen I have used ever take card due to cost their end.0 -
CC cost a percentage to process around 2-3%, if you want the protection ask to pay a small deposit on the CC and rest in debit card, then your protected for the full amount.0

a lot of small builders don't have the facilities to take credit or debit cards0 -
Unlikely to be Able to pay on card. Your main protection will be staged payments, avoid upfront payments at all costs, only excuse for them would be something unique or bespoke, and agree what you'll pay and when, possession is nine tenths of the law and that goes for cash.0
