Hope somebody can help,changed phone company from Vodafone to three in nov last year I thought I'd cancelled my contract as it was up with Vodafone so didn't use phones again,I got a letter in march saying I owed £300 and had to pay within 14days to stop it going to debt collection phoned Vodafone straight away to pay and they said it had already been handed over,I paid debt agency straight away the full amount and now I've got a default even though they told me I had 14 days to pay

If you defaulted in November, then paying in March would not be likely to avoid the default being registered on your file. It would be factually correct, even if you paid it in March.

If they dated the default after you paid, then you might be able to argue about the date of it, but probably not that fact of the default itself.
