I no I was mis sold ppi on a loan with LLoyds but we are talking mayb 18 years ago, it was just after I left school and I was told I had to have insurance because of my age and new job.
I have written to Lloyds but I am thinking it is way too old and they are gonna say no.
How far has anyone had a sucess story.
Thanks

If you sent comprehensive documentary evidence that you paid this old finance and had a robust mis-selling complaint then you have a chance. Without this evidence, I'd say your chances are nil almost two decades on.0

Hi
I had letter back today from lloyds with details of 3 loan accounts with ppi on them I now have account numbers and dates do u think I've better chance now. I know I was def mis sold but they go back to 89 and 98!0 -
There is no actual limit. However the clock only starts ticking when you'd be reasonably expected to be aware of the possibility of a mis-sale.
There have been a number of older complaints, anecdotal evidence suggests early 80s and beyond.
Now you've got the evidence from the bank of the account details and dates, your complaint can be investigated. Without these details the bank could have legitimately thrown your complaint out.
In terms of success, it depends on your complaint reasons. Look at the reclaiming guide on the main site for assistance. Ideally if you can prove you didn't need the insurance, or it was an unfair product such as a single premium insurance (paid out of the loan advance) then you'll have a stronger chance than relying on what you may have been told at the point of sale (pressured into taking it).Competition wins:
2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!0 -
The problem you face with old accounts is that, even if they uphold your complaint, the Bank will often want proof that you paid this finance to completion. So by all means make the complaint if you have valid (and preferably verifiable) mis-selling reasons, but do realise that the Bank are likely to demand documentary evidence at some point.Hi
