Go Skippy Excess for out of date Speeding endorsement

So, had an email from goskippy earlier about my car insurance wherein I was asked to contact them regarding an important matter.. When I did they told me that there was an excess of £52.00 to be paid as I hadn't mentioned an out of date speeding endorsement. The endorsement itself is over 4 years old so I could have had it removed.
Is it just me or doe's it seem a bit shifty to charge people for out of date endorsements, and do I have a legitimate complaint for the ombudsman here?

It is nothing to do with it being on your license it is to do with it being a criminal offence and not "spent" under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. This is why they ask for any motoring offences in the last 5 years because all points fall under a 5 year jurisdiction under RoOA0

- three years for totting
- four years on licence
- five years for insurance purposes.

although there is a plan to reduce the five year rehabilitation period to one year.
I know it is going to happen but I don't know if it has come in yet, might be worth a check0 -
No chance of a legitimate complaint. as mentioned, the RHA 1974 means points and convictions have to be declared for 5 years.
In fact you have committed a criminal offence by failing to dislcose a material fact:
