Car Buying Service

Hi,

I need to sell my car fast, well in the next 12 days.

HONDA CIVIC ES I-VTEC, 2006

I don't fancy using auto trader too many time wasters, the easier option for me is a car buying service but I'm not sure which one any recommendations?

I live in West Yorkshire and would prefer a service which comes out to you. I know webuyanycar have depots nationwide but I just think if you desperate enough to go to them no wonder they offer you such dismal offers. My view is that if someone comes to you they will not want to waste their time.

Any recommendations?

I assume your selling to move to a different country, as nothing else could really warrant that rush.

So 2 choices, sell at a huge loss OR get a friend to sell it for you in a more relaxed time frame.

Any car buying service regardless of whether they call to you or vice versa will offer you crap money, if they have to drive to you, they then have to pay for the petrol back to their local depot, so no advantage to it I don't think.

Why the rush? Like Strider has suggested, can a friend/family member not sell it for you with a more relaxed time frame?

Car is too new for WeBuy in my opinion. They work well for prestige cars <2K.

Honestjohn (telegraph column) recommends suresell, but I've not used them so don't know what they're like.

It's actually too old for an optimum quote from WBAC; they like the cars to be under 6 years old so that they are under 10 after 4 years finance. Everything else just goes to auctions.

suresell bypasses them and takes it to an auction, where you'll get whatever the traders that day think it's worth.

    Ebay, £99 start no-reserve auction, 5 days.

Make sure you describe it accurately, good bits and bad, and you should get a quick sale without any hassle.

Don't worry about the no-reserve thing, cars are only worth what people are prepared to pay, there are enough Ebay members to ensure it doesn't go for peanuts.

Do an online quote to see what they offer and list it on ebay for simialr money and take offers.

It should sell within a week with the right price.

  • Thanks for the feedback, tried selling it on Ebay but had no luck. Shopped around the Car Buying services and sold it for a reasonable price :) Not all bad haha

    Thanks again

Out of interest if you don't mind saying which company did you use?

I've been looking at quotes online for my car all weekend..
  • Hi,

    Of course not.

    I used a website called usedcarlover.co.uk

It's a local car buying service based in West Yorkshire but I think they do travel nationwide.

Nice chap (David) who runs it and I never felt like I was getting my pants pulled down.

    Hope that helps.

Best thing to do is ask around for a quotes.
