Plumbers Please advise

Thanks for reading . I am getting a dirty flow of cold water through my upstairs sink & Bath . Downstairs (1st running tap in) is clear . Is there a way to clean the pipes .DIY. Its dirty yellow and bits, not very nice . Upstairs toilet & shower are ok by looks, but they both have filters to stop any bits as does the boiler so hot seems ok too. Any help will be great and questions answered .. thanks in advance

Have you checked the cold water tank in the loft? May just be a case of draining it down and clearing the sediment.

The first tap (in the kitchen usually) is supplied directly from the main water supply.

no tank . just a Multipoint . Downstairs is running clean . Upstairs (HOT & COLD) is running dirty and lots of bits real ugly. I would have thought a contamination from the rising main if kitchen was dirty but !! Downstairs hot is fine too. BIL & Good friend are plumbers (well central heating enginerrs they like to call themselves ,difference of about £10 per hour ) Just banging ideas. Thanks mucch BTW
