CurrencyFair do AUD, I used them a few months ago. Good system - 'does what it says on the tin'.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Is your friend really in need of the £50/60 you borrowed, could it not wait till he came back.

    Ask him....

She's a backpacker, who are notoriously short of mponey. Plus i'm not sure when i'll see her again.
Does the friend not have a UK account?
Why not transfer it there free of charge with a faster payment.

No, i only an ozzie one i'm afraid.

Cheapest way is by way of a Debit Card refund if you have the Australian Debit card details and someone who is happy to do it..
Paypal otherwise is going to be a few pounds rather than £25
If you do an international money transfer it is likely the Australian bank will make a charge of around $10 AU on it hitting the account, whereas paypal and debit card refunds will not.

richardmk I am not sure what you mean with the debit card refund - there is no debit card transaction here.
  • Is your debit card issue fixed? You must have someway of getting cash for yourself, why not withdraw the money from an ATM and walk into a branch of her bank and pay in the cash.

Assuming you are still in Australia yourself!
