Partial Refund offer - refusing but should I pay in the cheques?

Hi All,
My partner has just received a partial refund on a ppi claim of £1300. She has rejected this amount by a phonecall to LLoyds TSB, however the cheques have arrived in the post this morning. Should we pay these in? If we do what would happen?
a) By paying in the cheques does this mean we are accepting the offer and we should do nothing untill its fully resolved?
or
b) If the complaint is accepted and she is given a full refund will they just provide a cheque for the difference?

Was this a good will gesture, was it upheld and why was it a partial offer?.
By cashing the cheques it would be seen as acceptance of the offer.
Why did your friend reject this?.0 -
She rejected it because dedecuted from the offer was a premium for an equvalent product to ppi, which they said would have been suitable for her at the time. Sorry its abit vaque i do not have the letters to hand0

So they said the PPI was necessary, but the single premium was a mistake so charged you for the equivalent monthly premium....
Did you have grounds ofr any other complaint besides single premium?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
thanks for the replies so far

they told her she couldnt have the loan without PPI, thats the grounds for complaint as far as I'm aware.
Is the general opionion to not cash the cheques while the complain is unresolved then?0 -

Was there any complaint reason better than that? That is pretty much the weakest complaint going. She wont have any evidence to support that and its clear they have no evidence to support that.
Their response indicates that they have found no wrong doing other than it being single premium when it should have been monthly. The FCA redress methods do allow for a conversion from single premium to monthly premium and a refund of the difference.
So, on face value, there appears to be nothing wrong with their response. If your partner goes to the FOS, what evidence does she have to support her complaint seeing as the lender has none?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
