Hi Everyone
I dont post very often but I do read practically every day and you all keep me on the straight an narrow so thank you!
I just wanted to say that I had a mini victory today. I am off on soon so I booked my usual facial, pedicure, eyebrow wax/tint. Then I sat down and worked out that it would all cost over £60 so I called and cancelled and will do it all myself.
I felt so good about cancelling - it was a real weight off my mind because I felt really guilty!
This is just one example of how my thinking has changed since reading all of your wonderful ideas and suggestions.0 -
I meant to say off on holiday!0

Today I did my weekly banking transfers. 1) £20 to sofa account 2) £10 to car insurance account 3)OT -£20 to weekend fund.
Used my £1 pruning shears to clear overgrown garden :-)
Used up remaining weed killer on items outside front door and got a lot of that cleared.
Got rid of loads of rubbish which seems to have been in the back garden for years.
Took advantage of solar panels to do washing for free. Got to love free electricity on sunny days :-)Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0 -
Hello All
To all that asked about Mini Bob -Thank you. He is now fine. I sometimes think children are made of rubber
more the nasty shock for us.
So today OH faced up the the task of getting quotes for our car to be fixed. He went to 3 places. They ranged from £250 to (wibble) £800......2 of the 3 also recommended we have a go at finding our own 2nd hand parts on ebay, then taking them in to be fitted. This will cut costs apparently. I was slightly concerned at just how nebulous the quotes were so I have asked OH to call back the 2 cheaper ones £250 and £500, tommorow and tie them down to what that covers and doesnt. Garages appear to be a law unto themselves. However, I think we have decided that as he gets paid on the 25th, if we literally stopped any form of saving, plus just paid the min on our debts we could potentially chuck £400 at our car situation without any additional borrowing. That feels the sensible option to me. Yes we do want a newer car, but we arent there yet, and just buying one because of this situation does not feel the right choice to me.
Other stuff
1) Had the worst day in the business since records began. Amazing weather, everyone down the park, not hard to figure.
2) Lined dried a load of washing despite not putting it out until 5pm!
3) Dinner for the family revolved around a pack of yellow labelled sausages. 99p for 8 after reduction.
4) Checked online banking.
5) My own rubber chicken made a very nice red thai curry style dinner last night, OH is taking that as lunch tommorow.
All from me.
Night.
