Solid wood flooring - insulation?

Hi all,
Because I am allergic to carpets, we are getting solid wood flooring throughout the house.
The idea of having cold floors in winter is bothering me.....
Can someone pls tell me if there is a solution to this? Underfloor heating is not an option for us unfortunately.

What is the sub-floor, what are you fixing the solid wood flooring onto?0

Build a new house to your own specification.
The floors are always going to be cold at least relatively, without UFH.0 -
We use a deerskin rug underfoot in front of the settee in winter, very effective, are you allergic to all natural fibres?0

Wood isn't cold underfoot, unless you live in an igloo.0

I agree with ionkontrol if you have solid wood flooring it is not cold underfoot!0
