Does anyone have any experience of AA's Parts and Garage Cover?

Just looking at renewing (or more likely going with AutoAid) and it's £133 for the two of us, less £45 TCB... so £90 for two people fully covered with home start, and the parts and garage cover

Does anyone have any experience of this cover? Looks like a potentially great deal but I'm wary as to how often they'll pay out

I asked the same question here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4658193

    Got a few replies too.

BTW, I assume you mean "AutoAid" in your post, not AA, considering the contents of your post :)

Rough estimate via website because Parts & garage cover is charged according to vehicle

If you buy Roadside assistance, At home, Parts & garage cover it will cost you £140.30 & you will recieve £47.25 back via TCB meaning you will pay £93.05

However if you purchase Roadside assistance, At home, National recovery, Parts & garage cover it will cost you £159.30 and you will recieve £78.75 via TCB meaning you will pay £80.55

so i reckon you are better off paying £150+ then £101-£149

dont forget to pay anually :)

and don't forget cash back isn't guaranteed !
  • Waste of money and time. They refused to payout on mine when the gear box went. was 4 months into the policy and they stated that the problem was likely to be there before i took the policy out. They will use any excuse to try and get out of paying and take ages deciding while in the mean time you cant get the car repaired so are without a car for a few weeks.
