Is it possible to paint laminate worktops?

I have black/grey laminate worktops which have lost their sheen somewhat. I would love new granite ones, but I intend moving and don't want the expense of having them fitted - couldn't afford to anyway. If I were to paint my worktops with black gloss would it look awful?

No it wouldn't look awful. It would look worse than awful.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

If you are thinking of moving I would be tempted to leave them alone. If you don't think it is going to impact on the price of the house any changes you make now could be thought of as a waste of money. Better to save any money you would have spent on this house and use it on your new place that you will benefit from. The people who move in may have different tastes and end up changing things themselves anyway.0
