if you keep getting turned down is that due to you hammering the searches?
Barclaycard initial or capitalone classic card, but before applying you should check your credit files, sign up to trials with Equifax and Experian before any more searches, even having your address in the wrong format can cause declines, and are you on the electrol roll.0 -
Why do you have a poor credit history?
From a lender 's point of view if you have not fully paid back previous lines of credit why would anybody want to lend to you now?
I can only think a pre paid credit card or a secured card would be the only way forward for you.0 -
and yes if your a defaulter or a ccjer, you have more chance winning the lottery then getting acceptance for a credit card.0

There is no point me checking my file I know it is really bad. Had many defaults a couple of years ago.
I know it will be really bad for another 4 or so years but can I get any CC until after the 6 years to wipe all the bad debts?0 -
Aren't there cards for people with poor credit like Aqua or Vanquis? The names are something like that. Pay in full each month though as their interest in very high.0

Hi Vanquis is great for building a credit history. If you pay off in full every month your limit will increase. But please be aware of interest rates as they are very high,So best to pay in full every month.;)0
