I say boast away OP. If you are happily saving, have your own house, in a good LT relationship and where you want to be then sod everyone else. OP didn't say he was saving every last penny and not having holidays or a life of some kind. He may have been on 2 or 3 holidays this year for all we know!
I get that diaries aren't for everyone on this forum but if you don't like, then don't read! Some people find it inspiring to read threads like this.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
........ and others find it clutters the forums with attention seeking garbage. You know, the sort of thing that look at me kidadults find endlessly fascinating.I get that diaries aren't for everyone on this forum but if you don't like, then don't read! I think it's because circumstances can change dramatically for the worse that it's important to save while you can. The Debt-Free Wannabe board is full of people who wish they'd saved during the good times, because the bad times came without warning. Nobody is living in a cardboard box here - just thinking of the future.
Alas, if you venture into the savings board of a money forum, there's a risk you may encounter people who are keen on saving money. In order to avoid these people, consider avoiding money forums.

Hey YB! Good to see you again. I shall be keeping an eye on your diary as I like reading your posts on the saving 12k thread.
I so wish I had your drive and attitude to money at 21/22. Now I'm an ancient 48 yr old who has just started to invest (first fund bought yesterday in my s&s ISA) so I have a lot of catching up to do.
Tim Hale is a good read along with Monkey with a Pin, which is a free ebook.

Nobody has said anything against saving and investing. That is what this board is about, after all. Nobody begrudges the OP of his savings and nobody is jealous (not that I have seen, anyway). The only one who mentioned jealousy before is the OP - - which sort of supports the notion of boasting as has been suggested.
Having your finances in a healthy state is a great idea at any age but to achieve that, you don't have to be a financial exhibitionist. There are several millionaires and multi-millionaires frequenting the MSE forums, none of whom feel compelled to inform or remind people of their financial prowess. The leading millionaire is probably a certain Martin Lewis.
But exhibitionists exist in all walks of life, so post away.0 -
Lol, anything negative, posted by anyone will result in an ignore.
Go ahead, ignore me. Il concentrate on reading other posts, some of whom might actually require some help rather than a group 'clap'. Lol.
Good luck to you, I hope you get everything you want. Ignore me, I'm not interested in your saving performance.0 -

I find it odd how you are criticising the OP about his saving's goals when in fact, in your signature, you have something similar (although a year out of date, did it not go too well?)!
p.s. and you say you read other posts, others which require help, and yet in the 9 years you've been on this forum, you've posted 437 times. I am sure you've been a great help to those asking questions :money:0 -
I'm not criticising the OP's goal, I'm questioning the need to post them here, at this time.
Yes, my signature is out of date - can't be arsed with it, if the truth be known.0 -

I think innovate has recently founded the C B A club.
You're member number 2 - which makes you deputy chairman
I'll also join - vice chair?
Don't bother resigning, or unsubscribing - we'll never send anything out anyway because we CBA :rotfl:0 -
