Letter from bank regarding PPI

We received a letter last week from our bank to say we may have been sold PPI with a loan we took out with them.
Are these letters being sent out to everybody or those who may have been mis-sold PPI?
The loan was from 2006 according to the letter. I can't find any of the/documents relating to this loan in the filling cabinets, I know we took the loan out at the time but would we have to show physical proof of the loan?

No you definitely had PPI otherwise you wouldn't have received a letter. The mailing is to tell you that you may have been mis-sold this insurance and this is what you need to provide evidence of. Remember, it's not wrong simply to have insurance-in order to be refunded it has to have been mis-sold to you.We received a letter last week from our bank to say we may have been sold PPI0
